The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) launched the Report or Explain Campaign Forum to encourage more companies to be transparent about their impacts on the world.

The Campaign Forum spotlights initiatives that are driving a report or explain approach to sustainability reporting, and features an information bank on global policy developments.

The new Report or Explain Campaign Forum is a convening space for everyone who wants to drive organizational sustainability disclosure. The Forum is open to all who believe that sustainability reporting is necessary and beneficial – that companies should reveal their performance or the reasons why if they don’t.

Any organization campaigning for a report or explain approach, or increased corporate transparency, can join the Forum, or support GRI in collating information on regulation around the world. The Forum is hosted on GRI’s website, www.globalreporting.org.

Member States, regional and local authorities, social partners and civil society organisations will be invited to commit on specific objectives and activities in view of the European Year 2012.

A first version of the future website of the European Year 2012 will be launched and the conference will also mark the 3rd European Day on Solidarity between Generations.

The aim of the four year long project is to exchange and develop know-how and experience in selected regions within Europe, as well as facilitate the market roll-out of electric vehicles.

In particular:

• comparing the twelve ongoing regional and national electromobility initiatives in eight different EU Member States,
• comparing the different technology approaches,
• contributing to the identification of the best solutions for the European market.

The project will cover different types of electric vehicles, the development of Smart Grids, innovative Information and Communication Technologies solutions, and urban mobility concepts.

‘Green e motion’ is part of the European Green Cars Initiative, and will be funded under the Seventh Research and Development Framework Programme by the European Commision in partnership with forty two partners from the industries, utilities, electric car manufacturers, municipalities, universities and technology and research institutions.
